2025-2026 SREE Mentoring Program

The Society for Research on Educational Effectiveness (SREE) Year-Round Mentoring Program connects early-career researchers with experienced mentors in education research. Through structured mentoring relationships and professional development opportunities, we aim to support the next generation of education researchers while building a more inclusive and collaborative research community.

About the Program

The mentoring program runs from April 2025 to April 2026, featuring monthly pod-based mentoring sessions where small groups of 3-5 mentees work closely with an experienced researcher. These pods are carefully matched based on research interests, methodological expertise, and professional goals. Beyond regular meetings, participants engage in quarterly networking events and receive dedicated funding for professional development.

Who Should Apply

Mentees: We welcome applications from graduate students and early-career professionals (within 5 years of their highest degree) who are actively interested in education research. Successful candidates will demonstrate a clear commitment to education research and the ability to participate in monthly pod meetings. We particularly encourage applications from researchers from underrepresented groups, women in quantitative research, first-generation scholars, and researchers from under-resourced institutions.

Mentors: We seek experienced researchers with at least 5 years in education research who can commit 2 hours monthly to mentoring. Ideal mentors are active SREE members who bring both subject expertise and a dedication to supporting early-career researchers. Mentors participate in quarterly networking sessions and help shape the future of education research through direct guidance of emerging scholars.

Applications are now open for both mentors and mentees. Interested candidates should review the eligibility requirements and apply by February 21, 2024.
